Gilberto Villicaña, Jr.
Gilberto Villicaña, Jr. is a member of the California State Bar and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. For over a decade, he has been an active volunteer at various non-profit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area such as the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant (EBSC) and Oasis Legal Services. Gilberto graduated from Golden Gate University, School of Law and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. While in law school, Gilberto not only externed and volunteered at EBSC and Oasis Legal Services, but also participated in the Veterans Legal Clinic helping our military veterans obtain the benefits they were entitled to for their service.
Gilberto’s passion for advocating and guiding others through our complex legal system stems from his own upbringing and background. He is a proud son of immigrants, his parents immigrated from Michoacán, México to Castroville ultimately settling in Watsonville, California. Gilberto is proud of his heritage and maintains close ties with his roots. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. Although Gilberto now lives in Los Angeles, where his wife is from, he remains loyal to his favorite teams the San Francisco 49ers and Giants.
Gilberto Villicaña, Jr. es miembro de la Asociación de Abogados del Estado de California y de la Asociación Estadounidense de Abogados de Inmigración. Durante más de una década, ha sido voluntario activo en varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro en el Área de la Bahía de San Francisco como East Bay Sanctuary Covenant (EBSC) y Oasis Legal Services. Gilberto se graduó de la Escuela de Derechos de la Universidad Golden Gate y recibió su licenciatura de la Universidad de California, Berkeley. Mientras estaba en la escuela de derechos, Gilberto no solo trabajo y fue voluntario en EBSC y Oasis Legal Services, sino que también participó en la Clínica Legal para Veteranos ayudando a nuestros veteranos militares a obtener los beneficios a los que tenían derecho por su servicio.
La pasión de Gilberto por defender y guiar a otros a navegar el sistema legal proviene de su propio origen de familia y crianza. Esta orgulloso de ser hijo de padres inmigrantes. Sus padres emigraron de Michoacán, México a Castroville y finalmente se establecieron en Watsonville, California. Gilberto está orgulloso de su cultura y mantiene el vínculo de sus raíces. Habla inglés y español con fluidez. Aunque Gilberto ahora vive en Los Ángeles, de donde es su esposa, se mantiene fiel a sus equipos favoritos los 49ers y Gigantes de San Francisco. Todavía se está acostumbrando al calor del Valle de San Fernando, pero está disfrutando de su tiempo en Los Ángeles y está comprometido en hacer el sur de California su hogar.
